Who we are

Hello! This is Tanya and Rula.

We love designing spaces of all shapes and sizes. Our style? It’s all about harmonious tension, old versus new, bold versus muted colors, light versus dark spaces, and antique furniture versus ultra-modern pieces.
Our objective is to make your space beautiful, luxurious, and comfortable.

We’ve been designing for more than twenty years and love it! So much so, that we have completed projects in Spain, Jamaica, Switzerland, and the Washington DC area.
Design Cie is especially proud of the children’s library we designed for refugees in Lebanon, where at-risk children can feel safe and nurtured by books and community gatherings.

How do we do it?

First and foremost, we ask pertinent questions. We get to know our clients’ lifestyles because in the end, the space must reflect their lives, travels, and culture.

Then we hit the interior architecture! We make sure that our space planning reflects function and lifestyle.

Then begins the graceful, synchronized dance of light, furniture, color, and finishes.

Natural light is maximized; artificial light is carefully positioned to create the famous Scandinavian Hygge (cozy and happy interior). We use color for impact and finishes that are elegant and timeless.
Stylish and sophisticated furniture are carefully selected to fulfill every need. Beloved heirloom furniture and art pieces often take center stage, allowing a design scheme to be woven around them.
